From the Pastor:

After college, I served as youth pastor at my home church, Immanuel Baptist, in Clifton Forge, VA. From there the Lord called me to work with the youth at Great Hope Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. (my sending church). I spent three years at Great Hope before the Lord called me to pastor Bethel Baptist Church in Great Barrington, MA. We spent three wonderful years in Massachusetts and the Lord called us to Union County, GA where we planted Shining Light Baptist Church.  We are an old-fashioned Bible preaching church where families come first, the fellowship is sweet, and yet we desire to be balanced and practical in our ministry approach.

I want to thank your for visiting our website. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at pastortim@shininglightbaptistchurchuc.org If you’re ever in these parts we would love for you to come by and visit our church.

Proverbs 4:18 says, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

Because of Calvary,

Timothy L. Mason, Pastor

Philippians 2:16

Hello from the North Georgia Mountains.  My name is Timothy L. Mason and I am the pastor of Shining Light Baptist Church in Blairsville, GA.

The Lord allowed me to be reared in a Christian home in Clifton Forge, VA.  My wife, Daisy, was born in Florida, but her family moved to Blairsville when she was around the age of twelve.  Both my wife and I were saved by the grace of God during our teen years.  We met each other at Ambassador Baptist College in Shelby, NC (now located in Lattimore, NC).  We were married in August of 1999 and are grateful that the Lord has blessed our home with three little boys: Andrew, Aaron, and Avery.

During my college days at Ambassador, the Lord called me into the ministry. I graduated in May of 1996 with a BBS in Bible and Pastoral Studies, while minoring in Christian Education.
